Ok, I know I've said this before

But I can finally, truly, see the light where I have time to listen to podcasts again. I finally got a job and they let you listen to music, and other, while working, I just have to get through training first. It may yet be a month or two before I can get back in to the swing of things. On the other hand it might not take that long as I will soon be getting my own appartment and will have time to do what ever I want. I am currently staying with relatives in the city where the job is located. My cousin and I are working on putting together a minecraft server for one of us to host from our places of residence. We had a professionally hosted one with BroHoster, but if you have been following the the MC world, you know that they recently ceased to exist as a company. Fortunately we were able to get a backup of our world and we are going to put it on this machine to save money. We got it really cheap cause the screen is busted, but is still usable. So cheap in fact, that it will pay for itself within 4 months.

So, what am I doing at this moment? Relaxing after a long day of training, drinking a hard lemonade, waiting for my cousin to get back with a camera so we can have some fun with green screen. We are making videos for our gaming clan.

Update 5-25-2011

So the world didn't end, the US has had 2 F5 tornadoes in less than 2 months and Japan almost sunk. Lots of stuff has been happening. As for this blog and the famous Podcast Reviews, I am almost ready to start again.

I did manage to graduate. WOOT! But I am still looking for a job (If any of you know of any openings for a computer tech/programmer let me know) and I am currently getting up to date on all the podcasts. I am currently still a few weeks behind. I am going to Orlando, Florida from Jackson, Mississippi via Montgomery, Alabama this weekend so I ought to have plenty of time to catch up on those long drives.

That's all for now, Fly Safe.

RL Keeping Me Away

I'm sorry for the dry spell folks. I am in the last few weeks of school and there is simply too much to do and not enough time to do it. I haven't even had a chance to listen to the podcast the last 2 weeks much less post on them.

On the bright side, I am graduating this go around so I should be able to get back to it in a month or so.

Time Flies

Wow, I thought I had been doing good with at least one post a week. I have been working on the blog every day this week, I just haven't finished my new adventure post and I have mostly been working on my Eve Definitions post. It doesn't look like much but I've had a pretty busy week. I've had the house to myself and I've been having trouble keeping up with my first taste of "home ownership". I cant believe it has already been 8 days since my last post. I have also been posting on some fellow bloggers' posts and been trying to make some new friends ingame. It feels like I've been blogging every day but apparently I haven't.

Time flying aside, there is good news. I am off to a good start on my new post, and I've been scouring around for other posts to give me an idea of what I want to talk about because apparently my in character stuff takes me too long to write.

I Can Haz Donations?

So my cousin and I run a gaming clan. It started with just a small number of people and all we needed was a teamspeak server and forums. Well over the past few months we have been growing rapidly. We have quite a few more members now and we wanted to be able to provide them with dedicated game servers to play on. The problem is that my cousin and I can't afford to pay for all of that, considering we branch out into 2 games in which we wanted to rent. So we began taking donations.

As it turns out, paypal won't let you accept donations if you don't have a bank account to attach to it. Since neither my cousin nor I wanted to attach our personal accounts to the club paypal (especially considering we have our own paypals) we needed to get a bank account created.

"I'm pretty sure I can just get a personal account set up for the clan." I said in innocent stupidity...*facepalm*.
YOU CAN NOT CREATE A BANK ACCOUNT WITHOUT THINGS LIKE A SSN OR A BIRHDATE!!!!

So as it turns out we had to register our clan as an "non-profit organization". We did this and got the EIN we needed, my cousin drafted up some "bylaws" and some "minutes" and I took them all to the bank. This time I was able to get it set up, making me a cosigner of an official, government recognized organization...thats a big deal for me.

All that's left now is to do the paypal bank confirmation process. It will take a few days, but after that we will be well on our way to accepting those donations.

TweetDeck

I found this fun little program yesterday. It lets you monitor multiple twitter accounts and a Facebook account without having to log in every time. you can even show all of them at once. (May want a high resolution for this)

The Next Step

HAHA! I found a great deal on a hard drive! 1.5 TB for a mere $80 US. Newegg had a sale and I snapped it up, it's a good brand too.

I am so very proud of my self to finding this deal. If I can find most of the parts I was going to get anyway on sale...I could save a good deal of money.

After this part arrived, my boss let me borrow one of our computers that weren't being used to plug this in and go ahead and install all my stuff to it. It now has Windows 7 and almost everyone of my games.

Making Progress

New Rig

This summer I am building a new gaming computer rig, it will take a bit of time to earn the money for it, so I will be buying each piece one at a time.

The first thing I bought was the new Microsoft operating system, Windows 7. I bought the 64 bit version so I can use more than 3 measly gigs of ram. Instead of purchasing it from microsoft, I went to ebay and bought just a CD-Key for $50 US. I will use the disk I burned for reformatting my laptop a few months back to install it.

The first step is so tiny it's almost intangible, but it IS a step.

New Purpose

Ok, so trying to write an entry about every single adventure I had grew to be too time consuming and I burned out quickly. So in an attempt to resurrect this blog I will set an easier goal, only 1 EVE post a week(minimum). In addition to that, I am going to follow a friend's example and write about some of my projects that I'm working on. I will be using different tags to allow for searching for specific entires)

The first project I'm going to write about is already under way so I will make several posts now in order to get caught up. I will also be making posts about some software that I am writing and will be writing, and anything else I decide to take up working on.

Hopefully this "re-launch" will gain a bit better air than the first one.
